As a fan of DIVA I'm giving my belated condolences on the recent passing of Stanley Kay. A truly extraordinary and in my opinion underrated figure in the history of American jazz. May his legacy live on forever and may DIVA keep on swinging. Best, Kurt

Carol...You are so great!! I loved your gig at Smalls. And, of course I love your playing with the big bands and with other groups, especially with Joe's piano behind you. Is that Joe? Take care. Hope to see you soon. Eddie

Carol, What an immense musical pleasure to jam with you, Danni and Art. Words don't go high enough to describe your playing. I admire and appreciate the great technique you have to allow you to say all the creative melodies you so effortlessly improvise. If more of us played with the sensitivity, feel, and musical vocabulary you have, well then most of the trumpet stereotypes would die off. You are an inspiration and a great entertainer. Keep tootin' Paddyo

Hey Carol, It's been years since I was lucky enough to play with you at the Women's Conference at TTU. I think Cara set that up. You were on fire the whole night...tremendous solos - prodigious imagination - fearless soloing - resolute phrasing and phenomenal chops. I loved your originals, too (most of the concert was your tunes.) Great writing, great changes. Had a blast playing on them. BTW, if you have or ever do write a paper or book about how you allow your imagination, intuition and ear have total control and not relying on tired things that have been already been played, let me know, I'd be all over it. I would love an insight into your thought processes. I know you're doing great...sure hope I have the pleasure of working with you again. I wish I could have played tenor instead of my ham-handed attempt at the piano. I wish you continued luck, Royce PS. On I Fall In Love Too Easily, big ups to the pianist at 2:21. That rules.
